Medicare subsidies for physiotherapy
Medicare covers physiotherapy services for some people. The Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program aims to coordinate care between doctors and health professionals. The program is targeted at helping people with complex care needs and longer term problems. If your doctor determines that you are eligible for the EPC scheme, Medicare offers rebates for up to five allied health services per year. Only your doctor can determine your eligibility and, if appropriate enrol you in the EPC scheme.
For more information about the EPC program talk to your physiotherapist and your doctor, go to the Medicare Australia website: www.medicare.gov.au, or call Medicare Australia on 132 011.
