She is a member of the APA Continence and Womens' Health Special Interest Group .Women's Health and Continence initial appointments are long appointments, usually twice the length of a standard initial appointment. They can be funded under the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care scheme, and our reception staff are happy to discuss this with you at the time of making the appointment.

 

You may benefit from advice from a Women's Health and Continence appointment:  

 

  • If you have difficulty recruiting your pelvic floor muscles or are suffering from bladder or bowel incontinence.

  • Prior to or following gynacological surgery, for example prolapse repair or hysterectomy, to assist in rapid recovery and prevention of pelvic floor and abdominal strain.

  • Prior to or post prostate surgery, to assist in recovery of continence.

  • If you are pregnant and concerned about weight gain, suitable exercise, gestational diabetes or techniques to assist in prevention of pelvic floor strain during and after pregnancy.

  • After Childbirth, particularly when ready to resume sport or your usual exercise routine.

  • If you have Osteoporosis or Osteopenia and would like to start exercising or add to your current exercise regime to prevent further bone loss and reduce your risk of falls and subsequent injury
